  1. Acknowledge this email as soon as possible. Please include Mrs. Perla Lara (plara6241@portervilleschools.org) and your 5th-grade teaching team in your reply.

  2. Submit change requests by August 12, 2025. If there’s a conflict (e.g., SCICON), please work with us to identify a similar school (i.e. 2 class vs. 3 class) you can swap with that doesn’t have the same issue.

  3. Look out for registration instructions. Mrs. Lara will send these directly to your 5th-grade teachers. Please support them in completing registration early—we prep materials weeks in advance to ensure a high-quality experience.

  4. No need to request field trip meals. STARBASE is co-located with Student Nutrition Services, and meals for your students will be automatically diverted to PMA.

  5. Submit bus requests early. Teachers will need the Trax# to complete the registration process.

  6. Optional orientation available. Let me know if you'd like me to visit your school before your STARBASE week to explain our mission, review expectations, and introduce students to the idea of STARBASE callsigns.
